On campus dormitories

On campus dormitories
Priority of on campus dormitories are offered to exchange students. The on campus residential fee for one semester is NT. 9,600. The main number for on campus residential housing is 04-2359-4359, followed by your room’s extension. The room style of the on campus dorms is a dorm room shared by 4 students. And, the room is furnished with basic furniture, such as beds, desks, closets, bookshelves and chairs. There are public showers and bathrooms and coin operated laundry machines are available in each dormitory hall. Also, each dorm has public living areas, where TVs are available. Also, there are convenience stores located nearby each on campus housing hall, which makes living on campus convenient. Each room is equipped with internet access. And for security reasons, male students are forbidden to visit and enter the girls’ dormitories. Also, there is a curfew for girls’ dormitory. The opening hours for the girls’ dormitory are 6 o’clock in the morning till midnight. For security reasons, female students will not be allowed to stay in dorms during Chinese New Year vacation. If exchange students or foreign students would like to live off campus, students need to locate the off campus housing by themselves. However, if help is needed, students may consult the OIEP for assistance. If exchange or foreign students would like to check out the on campus dormitory housing and wish to live off campus, please make sure to inform the OIEP to confirm their checking out requests.

Library

Opening hours: 8 AM till 9:30 PM. The libraries are closed during national holidays. Notices will be posted for opening hours during the winter and summer breaks. Students can access the library by swiping their student IDs. Guests may apply for a temporary guest pass to enter the libraries; however, guests cannot check out items from the library. Exchange and foreign students must return their checked out books and items back to the libraries during their checkout procedure prior to their departure. The Computer Center

The Computer Center
Regular Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 10 PM Winter and Summer Break Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. The Computer Center is closed during national holidays and computer access will be temporarily unavailable when the computer classrooms are reserved for instruction. The Computer Center is located on the basement of the ST building. There are 4 computer classrooms located in the ST building. They are ST019, ST020, ST021, and ST023. There are 3 computer classrooms located in the M building of the Second campus. The computer classrooms are M023, M024, and M025. Mega Bank

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to Noon Location: the on campus branch of the Mega bank is located below the Hong Lin Cafeteria. And, it is right behind the on campus post office. The on campus bank offers services such as opening bank accounts, withdrawals and wiring services. To contact the Mega Bank, please dial: 886-4-23500626

On campus post office
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM The post office offers services such as mail and package pick up and delivery, postal savings accounts and wiring services. Caves bookstore

Location: Caves bookstore is located across from the Student Activities Center. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 9 PM Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 AM to 6PM Notices will be posted for opening hours during winter and summer breaks. To contact Caves bookstore, please dial: 886-4-23581313.

Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday, 6 AM to 19:30 PM
All students are welcome to dine in the cafeterias. However, to dine in the Girls’ Dormitory Cafeteria, male students will need to leave their student IDs at the front desk of the Girls’ dormitory.

Convenience stores

Convenience stores
Convenience stores are located next to on campus residential halls. There is a convenience store located next to the Boys Cafeteria. There is also a convenience store in the Girls’ Dormitory. A convenience store is also next to the Alumni House. Furthermore, there is a convenience store located in the Second Campus Students’ dormitory area.

Welcome supermarket

There is a Welcome supermarket located on campus. To get to the Welcome supermarket on foot, it is about 500 meters from the Girls’ Dormitory, and it is on the way to the experimental farm.

Dante Café

Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 9 PM
Weekends, 7 AM to 8 PM
Location: It is located in close proximity to the post office, and below the OIEP office. Coffee, drinks and meals are served in the Dante Café.

Health Center

Opening Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM.During the semester, volunteering doctors will be on site to provide free medical advice to faculty, staff and students. Notices will be posted for the volunteering doctors’ office hours.If you’ve got minor cuts or bruises, you may visit the Health Center and consult the doctors on site. However, if emergency care is needed, please visit the Veterans’ Hospital, which is located just across from our university.

Alumni Association and the Alumni House

Comfortable on campus accommodations for visiting parents and alumni are provided by the on campus Alumni House. Both telephone or in person reservations are accepted. To contact the Alumni House, please dial: 886-4-23592134;23591351.

Students’ Extracurricular Clubs and Associations

Buses

There are several bus stops in front of the front entrance of the university. Students may take the various bus routes to get to downtown Taichung. Downtown Taichung and the Taichung train station bus routes: Bus 75, 83, 88, 106, 146 and 147. The bus fare depends on the distance of your ride. The bus fare varies from NT.22 to NT32. If assistance is needed, passengers may inform the bus drivers the name of the desired bus stop, so that the bus driver could remind the passengers when they’ve arrived at the desired destinations.
